πŸ’– Premium Traits, Treats & Happiness

← Back to Foxtrot Breedables

Want a chance at some of the rarest traits Foxtrot has to offer? That’s where Treats come in!

Treats are completely optional. Your pets do not need Treats to stay healthy, live, or breed normally. Pets without Treats can still:

  • Breed normally
  • Pass their genetic traits
  • Pull new traits
  • Pull monthly Special Edition traits

Treats simply unlock something extra: the chance to breed Premium Traits.

✨ What Are Premium Traits?

Premium Traits (PTs) are limited, exclusive traits available only through pets breeding at 100% Happiness.

Premium Traits are available for a limited time and will be regularly retired as new ones are introduced, so keeping your breeding pets happy gives you the best opportunity to find them while they’re available!

There is no generation requirement for Premium Traits. Any generation can pull one.

For a breeding pair to have a chance at a Premium Trait, BOTH parents must be at 100% Happiness when they breed.

Look for the Heart Eyes 😍 in your pet’s hovertext β€” that means they’re at 100%!

🧬 Once You Get a Premium Trait…

It’s yours!

Once a Premium Trait appears on a pet, it becomes part of that pet’s normal genetics and can be bred and passed just like any other genetic trait.

You do NOT need to continue feeding Treats for a pet to pass a Premium Trait it already has. Treats are only required to create the opportunity to pull a new Premium Trait.

πŸ’– How Happiness Works

After two pets at 100% Happiness breed, their Happiness resets to 0% and begins climbing again.

As long as Treats remain available, they’ll naturally return to 100% Happiness in time for their next breeding cycle.

If a pet runs out of Treats β€” or is picked up into inventory β€” its Happiness will gradually begin to drop.

Newborn pets

Don’t panic if your brand-new pet immediately tells you it’s out of food!

Newborns are born hungry and haven’t opened their eyes to find their Treats yet. This is completely normal. They begin eating Treats approximately 1Β½ hours after birth.

πŸ₯£ Treat Bowls

You only need ONE Treat Bowl rezzed at a time.

Your bowl can be refilled whenever needed! You can use Top It Off to add more Treats before it runs empty.

Don’t want to feed every pet? No problem! You can turn Eating OFF through your Home Object, or choose which individual pets you’d like to feed through their menus.

⭐ Premium Traits vs. Special Editions

Foxtrot has two different types of limited special traits:

Premium Traits (PT) are the rarer, Happiness-based traits. They can only be newly pulled when both breeding parents are at 100% Happiness, making them something breeders actively work toward.

Special Editions (SE) are limited traits available more broadly. Some Special Editions can be purchased directly at the Foxtrot Main Store, while monthly SE traits can also randomly appear through normal breeding across Foxtrot lines.

Monthly SE traits do not require Treats or a particular generation level.

Premium Traits and Special Editions are both limited and will change over time β€” so keep an eye on what’s currently available!

πŸ’• Treats Are Always Your Choice

We want to make this part especially clear: your pets will never get sick or die because you choose not to feed Treats.

Treats are an optional breeding feature for players who want to hunt for Foxtrot’s most exclusive Premium Traits.

Breed normally without them β€” or keep those 😍 Heart Eyes glowing and take your chance at something Premium!
